Hullo drob The bulb'southward office is TO pull gas from the tank into the carb and push Old gas and air OUT of the carb into the fuel tank; allowing fresh gas from the tank into the carb. Fuel line leaks, stuck cheque valves, stale gas, and or whatever pinhole in the fuel lines anywhere tin cause a malfunction.
If your primer/purge bulb is showing around half to two/3 full or and then, then it is probably working properly.

had the carb off on Polian BVM200 vs, putting it back on I find a Blue Gasket that almost likely goes on the front of the carb that attaches to the black big Gasket. How does that lay in there.

I put a new carburator kit in a poulan blower and information technology ran good the first two times i used it. Now i can't get no gas to come to the carburator at all. The primer bulb is not cracked

Hullo Red63 Cheque the fuel line and fuel filter in the gas tank. If the filter comes off the line, the line will bladder or get full of air, and no gas will become to carburetor.

The fuel line y'all will want to supercede are function numbers 530069216 and 530069247. And while you are at it you migth equally well supercede the 530095646 fuel filter.

Both of my BVM200VS blowers have died. Won't even try to starting time. Spark tester shows an Orangish glow rather than bright light. Even starter fluid won't get a cough out of them with new gapped plugs. Bought both at the same time. One died a twelvemonth ago. second one this leap. Already disassembled and cleaned the carbs per video. Ideas? Cheers!

Thank-you! I cleaned out the carburetor, disassembled the whole affair to clean out the gunk, varnish, and carbon. Reassembled and set the magneto clearance. Started hard the first time. 3 pulls each time since, like new. Good for some other 2 years at least. Lesson-learned almost using cheap 2-bicycle oil. This poor piddling thing was loaded up with and so much carbon that the piston rings were completely caked in place. All the best!

I have bought four of these blowers and after about a year they will not creepo. Took the offset one to a repair shop and he ran a pinch test and deemed the blower unfixable. being curious I took it autonomously. The piston ring was frozen tight on the piston, so much ai had to interruption information technology to remove it. The groove was filled with carbon scale. I cleaned it out and installed a new ring for virtually two bucks. A fleck of trouble but the rest of the blower looked make new. Subsequently reassembling the blower started as skilful as brand new.
All of the blowers I take bought of the bvm200vs model has done the same affair what is the trouble that caused the rings to stick

Does ethanol have a trend to make cranking a difficulty?

Yes - ethanol is nasty crap that dries out fuel lines and gaskets. It also reduces fuel efficiency. Between that and EPA emission standards (carb's set too lean), engines are harder to start, and will run ruff at an idol. Some demand to be set at one-half choke to run at full throttle.

I have a BVM200VS that cranks only fine with ethanol gas. If you are having starting issues, you may be trying to showtime it the incorrect manner. Hither is the starting procedure that I use:

1. Set the asphyxiate to "Full Choke"
2. Pull the starter rope three times without holding down the throttle (I put one foot through the handle and pull with both hands)
iii. Set the asphyxiate to "Half Choke"
4. Pull the starter rope until the blower starts (1-3 pulls)
5. Hold the throttle downward while changing the choke from "One-half Asphyxiate" to "Full Choke"

In one case my BVM200VS would non start even with starting fluid. The problem was a clogged muffler- I cleaned the muffler and information technology ran fine. You may take a partially clogged muffler or carburetor that is causing hard starts.

Primerbulb One thing all small engine users need to realize...is WHAT ethanol is and WHAT it does! What it is...is a form of alcohol...what it DOES is attract moisture; and lots of information technology. Moisture is not adequate in ANY part of a small engines fuel system and tends to corrode many parts it comes in contact with. I beg to differ with you lot somewhat on ethanol. It is NOT needed in our gas, nor is it WANTED by most users to be in our gas.

I don't like ethanol either, but I try to continue my machines running well with it all the same. And whether ethanol is good or bad, my blower still starts fine with it, although I am non sure if it will KEEP starting as expert as it does in years to come.
