How Can I Put Chevy Wheels on a Ford?

Automobile and truck wheels come in all sorts of different sizes and styles. Each wheel has a bolt pattern drilled into information technology which is specific for that vehicle. These bolt patterns don't often crossover, so if you lot have wheels from a Chevrolet, the bolt pattern volition oft non piece of work on a Ford vehicle. To fix this problem, you can install a fix of wheel adapters. These volition alter the bolt blueprint on the Ford to match your Chevrolet wheels. Installing a set takes around two hours.

Lift the Ford upwards onto a set of four jack stands with the jack then that all four wheels are off of the ground. Take the wheels off of the Ford with the tire iron and set them to the side.

Step 2

Install the bicycle adapters onto the Ford with the special wheel lugs included with the bicycle adapter kit. Mark the threads of the Ford wheel studs with the paint marker, making a line at the height of the wheel lugs. Remove the bicycle lugs and the adapter.

Step three

Reinstall the wheel lugs on the bare Ford rotor by mitt. Put the edge of the cut-off wheel on the grinder at the mark you made in step 2. Cutting off the threads on the Ford stud at that mark using the bending grinder, so remove the bike lugs with the tire fe.

Step four

Reinstall the bicycle adapter on the Ford hub. Install iii of the lug nuts on the adapter with the tire iron and verify that the adapter is centered on the rotor and hub, and that no threads on the Ford studs stick up past the surface of the adapter. And so install the remaining two lug nuts on the adapter and torque them down to 90 ft/lbs with the 1/2-inch torque wrench.

Install the Chevrolet wheel on the adapter with the tire iron. Lower the Ford off of the jack stands with the jack.
